The clashes happened between Abudus and Andanis during the final stages of the funeral rites of the late Ya-Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani II.

It is not immediately known what caused the renewed clash between the Andanis and Abudus but a report from Akyereba Kwabena, a Peace FM reporter indicate that some youth belonging to Abudu gate started throwing stones at some chiefs from Andani gate while they were on their way to Yendi as part of the final funeral rites of the late Ya-Naa.

This forced their colleagues from the Andani gate to react since they claimed they couldn’t watch on as their chiefs are attacked.

The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Ali who has two wives and three children. All his wives are currently pregnant.

Akyereba continued that two houses were burnt down during the clash; one belonged to an Andani while another belonged to an Abudu.

Calm has however been restored in Yendi with the proposed funeral of Ya-Naa expected to continue tomorrow.
